'07-'08 Race Clinics
We would like to thank Wolf Mountain, Fischer Skis, Dartfish, and our other sponsors, as well as the clinic participants themselves for a fantastic inaugural season at the Modern Ski Racing Training Center at Wolf Mountain Utah!
Modern Ski Racing Team offered two unique Race Camps geared for both Recreational and Master level Racers at Wolf Mountain Ski Area, in Eden, Utah, host mountain to Modern Ski Racing's permanent training centers.
In keeping with the MSR philosophy of providing a comprehensive ski racing experience, clinic attendees received not only extensive free-skiing drills and in-course drills and training, but received a full-bio mechanical analysis and adjustments (where needed), and had the opportunity to demo the latest in Fisher ski technology. The large coaching staff allowed for a low racer-to-coach ratio, allowing for personalized attention during every aspect of the clinics.
January 12-13, 2008 Clinic
The first clinic focused on free-skiing and NASTAR course racing; participants went through a series of free-skiing drills, and then took the skills acquired into stubbies drills on the race course, and ultimately into full NASTAR courses. The evening of the first clinic was spent at the MSR “home based” - a house rented at the Wolf Creek resort – where participants went through boot alignment analysis and adjustments, an introductory T’ai Chi lesson, and video analysis, complete with the latest in Dartfish technology.

The second day included advanced free-skiing drills, with increased focus on NASTAR-style “sprint” courses. Both days concluded with NASTAR-timed races, with results posted to the NASTAR database.

February 20-21, 2008 Clinic
Following the same pattern as the January clinic, the first day was spent on free-skiing drills before moving into sprint-style NASTAR courses. The evening session again included bio-mechanical alignment sessions, T’ai Chi lessons, and extensive video analysis using Dartfish. As before, Fischer provided demo skis for participants, and the day finished with a timed NASTAR race, with times and handicaps posted to the NASTAR database.

The second day brought a new twist for the Modern Ski Racing clinics: single-gate slalom training. For some participants, this was the first time they had ever been in a slalom course, while for others, this was an opportunity to take free skiing drills into a slalom course. For everyone, it was the opportunity to get a NASTAR handicap in a slalom course!

Again, we would like to thank our Fischer skis, Wolf Mountain, Dartfish, and our other sponsors, as well as the clinic participants themselves for a fantastic inaugural season at the Modern Ski Racing training center at Wolf Mountain Utah.
Thanks to everyone for a fantastic season!
